Working beyond the list. These six cover the majority of what Virginia businesses book, but commercial work rarely stays in a box. We also shoot podcast and interview production, product and packaging, architectural and interiors, industrial and manufacturing floors, construction progress, aerial and drone, food and hospitality, editorial portraiture, trade show booths and annual report photography. Tell us the requirement and we will scope it.

A clear production process

One brief. One plan. Media that arrives ready.

You should not have to manage scattered freelancers, unclear deliverables or an improvised production day. We coordinate the work from preparation through delivery.

Start your brief
1

Share the brief

Tell us the service, the location and the date. We turn the essentials into a clear plan and a fixed quote.

2

Confirm the production

Accept the quote and reserve the date with payment in full — Affirm, Afterpay and Klarna are available, and purchase orders for approved organizations. We then align on scope, schedule and deliverables before anyone arrives on site.

3

Capture the work

Our crew arrives early and handles the production with a calm, professional presence that keeps your day moving.

4

Put the media to work

Receive edited, organized assets in web and print sizes, with full commercial rights, prepared for the channels named in your brief.

Why Virginia Business Visuals

A smoother way to produce business media.

Premium visuals matter. So does the experience of getting them made. VBV is designed to make both dependable.

01

Clear scope and quote

Every brief comes back with a fixed quote, a defined deliverable list and a date — within one business day.

02

One production partner

Photography, video, audio, studio access and post-production coordinated through one point of contact.

03

Consistent brand execution

Lighting, framing, colour and editing are planned to create a unified body of work — not a folder of disconnected assets.

04

On location or in studio

We bring the production to your workplace, or welcome your team into our downtown Richmond studio environment.

05

Clear deliverables

Scope, file types, edit requirements and delivery priorities are confirmed before production begins.

06

Full commercial rights

Every file is delivered with unrestricted commercial usage for web, print, social and recruiting. No per-image licensing.

Secure visual services

Security-aware photography, video and multimedia for government environments.

Professional photography, video production, multimedia, graphic design and communications support for government agencies, defense contractors, intelligence-community partners and secure organizations.

Vetted, security-aware creative professionals · experience in controlled environments · government-contracting expectations understood · insured production · Virginia and DMV coverage.

01

What we provide

We provide experienced creative professionals who understand controlled environments, restricted facilities, security protocols and government-contracting expectations. Our network includes professionals who hold individual personnel clearance eligibility; that eligibility belongs to the individual, and verification is performed by the requesting organization’s security office through DCSA for each specific assignment. We vet every professional for identity, experience, insurance and portfolio.

02

How verification works

We verify the professional. The requesting organization sponsors access and verifies eligibility through DCSA. Sponsorship, need-to-know determinations and access approvals always rest with the requesting organization — we never represent ourselves as the verifying authority.

03

Facility clearance status

Virginia Business Visuals does not currently hold a facility clearance (FCL). Under the National Industrial Security Program, an FCL cannot be self-initiated — it must be sponsored by a government contracting activity or an appropriately cleared contractor in connection with a legitimate classified requirement. We intend to pursue an FCL and welcome sponsorship on qualifying contracts.

04

Three service lanes

Cleared-adjacent, unclassified production — unclassified work where you prefer security-aware, vetted personnel because production occurs in or around a controlled facility. Controlled unclassified and sensitive production — projects involving CUI or restricted information, using client-approved systems, transfer environments and media-handling procedures. Classified environments — coordinated manually through your contracting and security personnel; classified assignments are never instantly bookable, we do not host or process classified media, and where a facility clearance is required the engagement must be structured and sponsored by the requesting agency or prime contractor.

We do not advertise specific clearance levels, agencies or programs, consistent with government guidance on how clearances may be discussed publicly. When requesting support, do not submit classified information, CUI, export-controlled information or sensitive facility details — state requirements at a general level only.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

If your question is not here, call 804.404.5670 or send a brief below and add a note.

How much does a commercial photographer cost in Richmond, VA?

Work is priced by the day and by the deliverable rather than per image or per head, so the number depends on the service, how long we are on site, how many people are being photographed and where in Virginia the shoot happens. Send a brief using the form below — service, location, date and roughly what you need — and you will have a fixed quote, not a range, within one business day. Nothing appears on the invoice that was not in that quote. Full published rates for every service are on the pricing page.

How fast do we get the photos back?

Standard delivery is 3 business days for headshots and events, and 5 business days for brand photography. Video projects run two to three weeks depending on scope. A 24-hour rush option is available on photo work and can be requested in your brief.

What areas of Virginia do you cover?

Three corridors and everything between their end points. I-95 runs Quantico to Richmond — Quantico, Triangle, Dumfries, Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Caroline County, Ashland, Hanover and Richmond. Route 29 runs Gainesville to Charlottesville — Gainesville, Warrenton, Culpeper, Madison and Charlottesville. I-64 runs Charlottesville to Richmond — Charlottesville, Zion Crossroads, Louisa, Goochland, Short Pump and Richmond. Travel anywhere on those corridors is included in your quote.

Do you only shoot the six services listed?

No. Those six are the most-booked packages and the ones we can price instantly, but Virginia Business Visuals is a commercial photography practice and we shoot to the business requirement. That regularly includes podcast and interview production, product and packaging, architectural and interior work, industrial and manufacturing floors, construction progress documentation, aerial and drone coverage, food and hospitality, editorial portraiture, trade show booths and annual report photography. If the job is not on the list, describe it and we will scope and price it.

Can you photograph 40 people in one day?

Yes. Headshot days run on a rolling five-minute schedule with an on-site studio setup, so a 40-person team is typically finished in a single morning. Tell us the headcount in your brief and the quote will reflect it.

Do we own the photos?

You receive full commercial usage rights to every delivered image and video for marketing, web, print, social and recruiting use. There is no per-image licensing, no usage window and no extra fee for putting the work on a billboard or in a pitch deck.

Are your professionals cleared?

Our network includes professionals who hold individual personnel clearance eligibility. That eligibility belongs to the individual — not to us — and it is verified by the requesting organization: your FSO or security office sponsors the assignment and submits the verification request to DCSA. We do not advertise specific clearance levels, agencies or programs, consistent with government guidance on how clearances may be discussed publicly.

Do you hold a facility clearance (FCL), and do you handle classified material?

Not currently, and no. An FCL must be sponsored by a government contracting activity or a cleared contractor in connection with a legitimate classified requirement — it cannot be self-initiated. We intend to pursue one and welcome sponsorship on qualifying contracts. We do not handle classified material: classified images, recordings and graphics require approved safeguarding under the customer’s control. We coordinate talent, contracting, production planning and on-site procedures; the customer controls transfer, review and storage. Unclassified work at your facility — executive portraits, ceremonies, conferences, recruiting and training video, public-affairs photography and facility documentation approved for public release — is our largest service lane.

What happens if it rains, or the date moves?

Reschedule at no charge with more than 72 hours’ notice; your payment moves to the new date. For outdoor work we agree a weather call the afternoon before, so nobody is standing in a parking lot deciding at 8am.

How do we book, and what do you need from us?

Send a brief below and you get a reply within one business day with a fixed quote and a call sheet. Jobs are reserved with payment in full — major cards, plus Affirm, Afterpay and Klarna, and purchase orders for approved organizations. From there we need a point of contact, a load-in time and parking details.
